MENTORING AND KNOWLEDGE-TRANSFER

Companies face two related challenges when managing their workforce: the loss of experts in their field who, having accumulated a huge amount of knowledge and expertise, are coming up to retirement; replacing these experts with the next generation who lack experience and need time to accumulate the same level of expertise.

Mentoring can be a way of including these experts in the handover process, to safeguard the company’s expertise once they have retired.
